In the third quarter of 2022, the top music and podcast apps on iOS in Germany demonstrated distinct trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Data from Sensor Tower reveals how these apps performed during this period.

Spotify - Music and Podcasts experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly revenue, peaking at around $25K in mid-July and dipping to approximately $17K by the end of August. Weekly downloads showed a general decline from 51K in late June to about 41K at the end of September. Despite this, weekly active users remained stable, starting at 5.18M in late June and increasing slightly to 5.22M by the end of September.

Shazam: Find Music & Concerts maintained a consistent download rate, hovering around 21K to 22K weekly downloads throughout the quarter. Active users displayed a slight decline from 1.95M at the start of the quarter to 1.89M by the end of September.

Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts saw a varied revenue trend, with weekly earnings ranging from $121K to $160K. Downloads fluctuated as well, starting at 18.7K in late June and ending at 15.8K by the end of September. Active users showed a minor decrease from 419K to 405K over the quarter.

SoundCloud: Discover New Music reported steady revenue, with weekly figures generally around $33K to $37K. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight dip to 10.8K in mid-September before rebounding to 13.1K by the end of the month. Active users fluctuated between 1.54M and 1.63M throughout the quarter.

YouTube Music exhibited a steady revenue trend, maintaining around $62K to $73K weekly. Downloads showed a gradual decline from 11K to 9K over the quarter. Active users increased from 951K in late June to nearly 997K by the end of September.
